René Paul Fonck was a french aviator in ww1 who was awarded several awards one of which was "The Legion Of Honour" and was then commander of the Legion after the war. His confirmed amount of victories was 75. (Born on March 27 1894). Later in his life he got an engineering education at "Ecole Nationale Superieure des Arts et Metiers". Though he was arrested for being interested in aviation, he was rejected from immediate incorporation in air service. August 22, 1914 he was to undergo five months basic combat training or called "combat engineers." In 1915 he was finally accepted into basic arial training to learn how to fly. Fonck's teacher as killed by an anti-aircraft shell burst which also nearly killed Fonck himself. His first strike was on a August 6, 1916 against a German Rumple C. III their forces lead by Fonck they got it to land behind french lines. Finally the areal war had stopped Fonck and creeper able to bomb the german aviary ending areal war.
