Thrust, Lift, Drag, Weight
FORCES OF FLIGHTThrust, lift, drag, weight. Possibly
the most important forces of flight. Because wings are designed for the air to move faster over the top so the pressure on the top of the wings decreases and the air pressure on the bottom of the wing is higher which creates lift. |
LANDING500, 400, 300, 200, 100, 50, 40, 30, 20, 10, touchdown. Those are the sounds inside the cockpit during landing. But how do they pull off a stunt like that? Well when a plane wants to land, the pilot arms the spoilers ( speed brakes) and puts the flaps down to slow down the plane. When a plane comes down for landing, the pilot wants the rear landing gear to touch the ground first.

AIR TRAFFIC CONTROLHave you ever wondered how airplanes keep a constant schedule? Of course there are delays but the centre of it all is ATC (air traffic control). They guide planes from gate to gate as well as in the sky. They play a major role in airport safety and keep the chaos under control.
